Funding Programs

Qatar offers a variety of funding programs to provide financial support and incentives for startups, SMEs, and innovative projects across sectors.

Early-stage investments (direct channel), it is an equity funding program compliant with the Islamic Shari’a. The program aims to build a new generation of Qatari entrepreneurs or Qatari-based companies by providing them with the support and equity capital to help them start their business. The maximum investment limit is QAR 1.825 million per deal for Qatari-based companies, with a focus on innovative, sustainable and scalable businesses.

Provides capital to SMEs, Qatari and international companies with a Qatari angle across target industries. In collaboration with entrepreneurs, to support their growth and expansion plans management. The eligibility is for Qatari based companies and selectively for international companies that are expanding to Qatar and the region. Estithmar aims at growing knowledge-based SMEs with potential to grow in/outside Qatar; and it offers up to QAR 18 million per qualified investment. It is preferred that QDB participates with other investors in the investment rounds within this product.

An Investment mechanism that creates a partnership between the individual investors, public/ private entity or other institutions, and QDB. QDB will invest as a co-investor to provide funding to SMEs with business activities permissible and Sharia compliant. The eligibility criteria requirements will apply to both the investor and investee applying for this program. The aim is to increase interest from the private sector investors and boost their capabilities. The maximum investment limit is up to QAR 3.65 million per deal.

Invests in sector agnostic early-stage Technology Startups in a many domains including sports technology, Fashion & Fashion Technology, mobility, ICT, Fintech and others. Our investment cap is QAR 100,000 = USD 27,000.

Invests in Technology Startups with Market Traction and moving to growth stage operating in a many domains including ICT, EdTech, Health Tech, Fintech, and others. Our investment cap is QAR 100,000 = USD 27,000.

Invests in Financial Technology Startups with Market Traction and moving to growth stage. Our investment cap is USD $110,000 for Incubated companies and USD $170,000 for accelerated companies in the growth stage.

The QSTP Tech Venture Fund (TVF) is a strategic venture capital fund designed to support local innovative startups and attract international startups looking to scale in the region.

The fund provides opportunities for local, regional and international tech founders and entrepreneurs to source seed-stage funding and follow-on capital.

Alchemist Doha is Alchemist Accelerator’s exclusive regional hub in the MENA region. It is an incubator, an accelerator, and a seed fund - all in one. Startups accepted to Alchemist Doha will be incubated for 24 months, will join the global flagship Alchemist Accelerator program (if they have not already been part of it), and will receive up to $1M in seed equity funding. Qatar Development Bank (QDB) is a fully owned government financial entity set up by an Emiri Decree to invest in and develop local industries by supporting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Qatar. The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in the State of Qatar is the government entity responsible for regulating and developing the telecommunications and information technology sector in Qatar. Government Communications Office (GCO)

The Government Communications Office (GCO) was established on 16 June 2015 under Amiri Decree no. 27. It serves to coordinate communications across government and public sector-funded agencies. The GCO falls directly under the jurisdiction of the Prime Minister.

The GCO communicates the priorities of the government of the State of Qatar, works with ministries and other key organisations to tell Qatar’s story and supports government entities in responding to media enquiries in a timely manner.

The GCO is a valuable partner to local, regional and international media, interest groups, the general public and others seeking to learn more about Qatar.
